CURTIS STARKEY - CLUB PRO

 

The Head Golf Professional at Douglas Community Golf Club, has been in his position since 2001.  Prior to DCC, he was the Head Professional at Haycreek Golf Club in Wright, Wyoming.  After graduating High School from Cheyenne Central in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he attended the University of Wyoming and played on the Wyoming Golf Team from 1986-1991.  In 1989, Curtis finished 11th in the Western Athletic Conference Championships, as well as having his best finish as a Runner-Up in the UW Invitational.  Curtis turned Professional in 1992 and became a Class A PGA Professional in 1995.

 

At Douglas Community Golf Club, Curtis has strived to grow the game.  He is very active in Member and Non-Member Tournaments as well as taking to Junior Golf Program from 15 students prior to his arrival, to having years of close to 100 Juniors in his program.  73 Students attended his program in 2019.  Curtis also has been the Douglas High School Assistant Golf Coach since 2006.  Douglas Golf Shop is a full service pro shop selling all the top name manufacturers
